We offer Learn to Swim Classes at Regional Centers. Each session is $50.00 for resident and $55.00 non-resident We offer 10 classes which meet on Tuesday and Thursday nights for 5 week. To enroll in a class you will need to go to a Regional Center and fill out a registration form at the front desk.

Session I
  • Class reg. June 4-8
  • Class starts June 12
  • Class ends July 12
  • Session II
  • Class reg. July 16-20
  • Class starts July 24
  • Class ends Aug 23
  • Classes will not meet when schools are closed for inclement weather.

    The Regional Center Pools will be closed on Monday, May 28 and Wednesday, July 4.

    Metro Parks maintains a variety of seasonal outdoor pools and year-round indoor pools. Wave Countryand the Centennial Sportsplex charge admission. The other pools offer free admission during open swimming and lap swimming times. There is a fee for swimming classes and groups at all pools.

    For the second time since it opened earlier this month, a person was seriously injured at Metro's new waterfront park.

    A Nashville woman broke her ankle when she slipped on some hilly artificial grass at Cumberland Park Saturday afternoon.

    "As soon as I fell I noticed it," said Rebecca Mealer from her Vanderbilt University Medical Center hospital bed Monday.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

    Nashville Shores is scheduled to host a job fair on Saturday in an effort to hire 500 seasonal employees for the upcoming season. 

    The job fair will be held from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the water park located at 4001 Bell Road in Hermitage. 

    Available positions include concessions, grounds, tickets, retail, lifeguards, guest services and other facets of the water park.

    Here’s your Nashville Zoo Picture of the Week. An animatronic brachiosaurus is lifted into place by AmQuip crane company in preparation for the opening of the Zoo’s newest feature, DinoTrek. We plan to have a ribbon cutting this Friday (March 16) at 9:30 a.m. to officially open DinoTrek to our guests.
